The Hacienda Uayamon
Near Campeche, Campeche - Mexico

Uayamón's ten "casitas" are individual houses on a tree-lined road. Originally these houses were built for the elite of the hacienda staff in the 19th century. Each casita has a spacious air-conditioned bedroom with writing desk and satellite TV, a large bathroom and a terrace overlooking the jungle gardens. High beamed ceilings and mahogany furniture echo the opulence of the hacienda's apogee.

Accommodations:

Casitas 5 and 6 are adjoining and share a pretty gated entrance. These two suites would be ideal for a family group (casita 5 has two double beds and casita 6 has one king bed.) Casita 6 also has one of the most private gardens, along with casita 4 (king bed) and casitas 1 to 3 (twin beds). Nine of the ten casitas feature a comfortable outdoor daybed in an Asian style gazebo; the other (casita 3) has a terrace adjoining a small cave!

The two suites are housed in a former hospital and are slightly larger accommodations featuring extra amenities such as a CD player. Their gardens are particularly romantic- each with a stone plunge pool and daybed, and are fairly private.

These little houses offer the perfect combination of historic charm and modern convenience. The spacious bedroom is naturally cool due to the shuttered windows and high ceilings, but remote controlled air-conditioning and ceiling fans have also been installed to insure your comfort.  A hammock is provided for those who prefer to sleep in the traditional Mayan manner-excellent for an afternoon nap.
Every casita is also equipped with a satellite TV and a minibar.

Five of the casitas are furnished with two double beds. They are otherwise very similar to the king bedded casitas. For families wishing to reserve two casitas close together we'd recommend numbers 5 and 6, which are adjacent.

Each casita features a spacious elegant bathroom that also is big enough to serve as a dressing room. Shuttered doors provide easy access to the private gardens, and the same jungle views can be enjoyed from the large deep tub. 
These bathrooms also include a large walk-in shower and a double vanity unit.

The two suites are located in an imposing building that was formerly a charity hospital located on the Hacienda estate. The two suites are just a short walk from the main restaurant and reception area and also a short distance from the other guest casitas. Each spacious suite features a king size bed and a sitting area. The interiors are a little larger than the casitas and are full of character and charm, with high beamed ceilings and double doors opening onto private gardens. These are very tranquil and romantic accommodations, well appointed complete with a compact disc player, minibar and satellite TV for blissful relaxation after a day's sightseeing.

The main restaurant at Uayamon is located in the grandest building of the Hacienda in an area that was formerly a favorite resting place of the owner or "patrón." It overlooks the gardens, and tables are usually arranged on the terraces for al fresco dining in the evenings, and for sunny breakfasts. The interior of the restaurant is fan cooled for comfort during the sultry summer afternoons. 
The restaurant serves a variety of Mexican and International dishes from 7am to 11pm. Room service is available throughout these hours, and guests can also choose to dine in special locations around the Hacienda gardens.

The spectacular swimming pool occupies what was formerly the entrance to the Machine House, and the old stone walls and majestic columns have been left in place to create a dramatic setting.
