to Do...
Holbox is home to over 150 species of birds. Of course,
bird watching is one of our more popular activities! ...especially
the pink flamingos.
The sea here has a sandy bottom - great for swimming.
Beachcombers can find hundreds of fine shells along the
wild coastline.
Standard fishing trips, dolphin watching excursions and
a short tour through the "river" which bisects Holbox
island are available.
If you have the urge to go "off island" for a day, there's
a small Mayan ruin near Chiquilá, the small town on the
mainland across from Holbox and the fabulous Mayan ruins
nearby at Ek Balam.
There is also a orchid farm and a butterfly sanctuary
close to Chiquila.
